Solar System Inspection

Solar panels love soaking up sun. We make sure they are soaking up savings too. A Sprk Certified evaluation of your photovoltaic system: energy production, component life, equipment safety, storage, and the roof underneath it. We inspect both owned and leased systems.

01

Verify energy production

Our industry-trained inspectors test and verify your solar system’s actual energy output: not the number on the original proposal, but what the array is producing today.

02

Remaining life of components

Every component of the system is evaluated for age and condition. As solar components age, the system may stop producing at its rated capacity, and reduced production shows up directly on your energy bill.

03

Equipment condition and safety

The system is evaluated to confirm it is safe. These arrays produce a large amount of energy, so our inspectors look for any safety issue that could negatively affect the system: wiring, terminations, disconnects, conduit and labeling.

04

Energy storage

If a battery storage component is installed, we check that it is operating as it should. Degraded storage components quietly reduce the usable capacity of the whole system.

05

The roof beneath the array

This is the finding that catches buyers. A photovoltaic array often has twenty-five years of life left. A South Florida roof frequently does not. If the array sits on a roof with only a few years remaining, removing and reinstalling it to re-roof is a substantial expense that belongs to the owner. We assess the roof under the array, not just the array itself.

06

A detailed, graded report

You receive a detailed report that assigns your system a grade against each of the criteria above, and documents any issue or deficiency observed at the time of the inspection. Friendly and straightforward, designed to answer your questions whether you are going solar or buying a home that already has it.

What’s Included
  • Solar system remaining life, how long the system is expected to last
  • Solar energy production, how much energy your system is generating
  • Solar energy storage, condition and efficiency of the battery, if fitted
  • Installation quality and safety: verified correct, and its current condition
  • Graded report with every observed issue documented
  • Owned and leased systems both inspected
