Engineer Foundation Evaluation

Concerned about foundation movement, settlement or cracking? We perform a detailed site evaluation and plot point layout of the property, and a licensed professional engineer reviews that documentation and issues a written report on the conditions observed and what they mean.

01

How the evaluation works

Billings Home Inspections performs a detailed site evaluation and plot point layout of the property, documenting relevant elevations and the observable conditions of the structure. That field documentation is then provided to a licensed professional engineer for review and analysis.

02

What the engineer provides

The engineer evaluates the collected information and prepares a professional written report addressing the observed conditions, potential foundation movement, and the recommendations that follow from their engineering assessment. What you receive is an engineering assessment of the property, not an inspector's opinion of a crack.

03

Field measurements plus engineering analysis

Our process combines on-site field measurements and documentation by Billings Home Inspections with a professional engineering analysis. That gives property owners a documented assessment they can act on, whether the question came up during a home inspection, in the middle of a transaction, or after years of watching a crack get wider. When you have questions about your foundation, this is how you get the information to understand what is happening and what steps may be appropriate.
